WAITING UPON THE LORD

Theme:Waiting upon the Lord

Readings 2 kings 7:1-20

2 Kings:7.1
Elisha said, "Hear the word of the LORD. This is what the LORD says: About this time tomorrow, a seah of flour will sell for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria."

2 Kings:7.17
Now the king had put the officer on whose arm he leaned in charge of the gate, and the people trampled him in the gateway, and he died, just as the man of God had foretold when the king came down to his house.

2 Kings:7.18
It happened as the man of God had said to the king: "About this time tomorrow, a seah of flour will sell for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria."

2 Kings:7.19
The officer had said to the man of God, "Look, even if the LORD should open the floodgates of the heavens, could this happen?" The man of God had replied, "You will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it!"

2 Kings:7.20
And that is exactly what happened to him, for the people trampled him in the gateway, and he died.

=> Answers of the prayers we pray to GOD are:
I will answers ypu
I will not answer you
Be patient I will do unto you

=> GOD can use any one to fulfill his promise and also to keep his word.
Just imagine people thrown out of the city and even became hopeless.
=>The legacy remained for the good news they brought In the city and saved many because GOD was with them.
=> This people waited for the Lord and GOD fulfilled his word as spoken by his prophet.
=> GOD does not Go by time and seasons but GOD is there in the necessary time.
=> The good thing to do now that the Lord has made it clear in his word , just keep praying ..keep praying , don't loose heart GOD hears and he is still coming

=> Anything that the Lord does or anything that you pass through is to bring GLORY unto the Lord whether Good or Bad keep pressing on waiting upon the Lord.

KEYS OF THE LATEST MODEL OF THE CAR

Son:  Dad, may I speak with you?
Dad: Go ahead.
Son: Among all my classmates, I am the only one without a car. It is embarrassing.
Dad: What do you want me to do?
Son: I need a car. I don't want to feel odd.
Dad: Do you have a particular car in mind?
Son: Yes dad (smiling)
Dad: How much?
Son:$2000
Dad: I will give you the money on one condition.
Son: What is the condition?
Dad: You will not use the money to buy a car but invest it. If you make enough profit from the investment, you can go ahead and buy the car.
Son: Deal.

Then, the father gave him a cheque of $2000. The son cashed the cheque and invested it in obedience to the verbal agreement that he had with his father.

Some months later, the father asked the son how he was faring. The son responded that his business was improving. The father left him.

After some months again, the father asked him about his business
again and the son told him that he is making a lot of profit from the business.

When it was exactly a year after he gave him the money, the father asked him to show him how far the business has gone. The son readily agreed and the following discussion took place:

Dad: From this I can see that you have made a lot of money.
Son: _Yes dad. _
Dad: Do you still remember our agreement?
Son: Yes
Dad: What is it?
Son: We agreed that I should invest the money and buy the car from the profit.
Dad: Why have you not bought the car?
Son: I don't need the car again. I want to invest more.
Dad: Good. You have learnt the lessons that I wanted to teach you.
- You didn't really need the car, you just wanted to feel among. That would have placed extra financial obligations on you. It wasn't an asset then; but a liability.
- Two, it is very important for you to invest in your future before living like a king.
Son: Thanks dad.

Then the father gave him the keys of the latest model of that car.

MORALS:
1. Always invest first before you start living the way you want.

2. What you see as a need now may become a want if you can take a little time to get over your feelings.

3. Try to be able to distinguish between an asset and a liability so that what you see as an asset today will not become a liability to you tomorrow.

God is so perfect no to change. God will bring a turn around.The word of GOD is final.

Giving God thanks is for what he has done.
There is a blessing after giving offering and tithing but for thanksgiving there is no strings attached.
First harvest offering shows that one has no need of the much food.

CHANGING OF HEART AND WAYS

SPIRIT OF DISOBEDIENCE

In the earth, SPIRIT of disobedience rules the people .
The people are make choices either to obey or disobey .

WAY TO STAND WITH THE PATHS OF THE LORD

DO YOU STAND WITH YOUR GOD:-
Remember the way the Israelites stood with there GOD when they were in Babylon under siege.

Acts:13.6
They traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus,

who was an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God.

But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith.

=> There are enemy's that bring deceit and trickery to prevent you from getting the truth though witchcraft and sorcerer.

BUILDING THE ENVIRONMENT OF FAITH

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort.

=> Address your GOD of whom he is.... in the valley and even in the darkness.
=>In addressing GOD on this manner you create a Faith environment with Christ.

=> In Isaiah, The Lord is promising for the best.

Building Faith environment fact about valleys:
~Valleys are inevitable.
~Valleys are unpredictable.
~Valleys are impartial ~ no choice class nor status.
~Valleys are Temporary~ every valley has an exit.
~Valleys have a purpose ~ there is a reason for being in that valley.

1 Samuel 17: Story of David the shepherd of the sheep goes out to fight Goliath, the Philistine.

Working for a recruiting company has meant that a lot of job seekers come to me for advice on how to land a job and there are things I have found myself repeating over and over again.

While most of the advice may sound obvious, it’s all stuff that most of us tend to forget when caught up in the hustle of trying to land a new job as fast as possible.

Whether you are just starting your job search, looking for a new job or to change your career all together, I guarantee this advice will change the way you go about your job search.

1. Never send a CV that is not tailored to the job

The job market has changed over the last few decades and now more than ever, employers want more than an application when deciding who to hire.

Gone are the days when you only used to submit a CV for any job opening and the HR manager will spend a better part of their day going through all the applications.

Nowadays an employer will literally spend 30 seconds scanning through your application and decide whether you are worth proceeding with or not.

In an age where a single job post will attract over 200 applications, there is a need to stand out. And how do you do that?

You do things different. You tailor your CV to fit what the employer wants. Let the employer in those 30 second find the kind of skills and experience they are looking for.

And when you do that, you will never again say that you keep applying for so many jobs but never hear back from employers.

2. Always follow the employer’s instructions

There is a tendency for job seekers to want to go above the employer’s expectations in the hope that they will impress the person receiving the application.

In reality, this only works against you most of the time.

There is a reason an employer will strictly tell you to send a CV only or a CV and cover letter.

Just do that. If they want a CV stop attaching your cover letter, certificates and recommendation letters.

It won’t make much of a difference because at the end of day, they won’t even open those extra attachments.

3. While you know you can do the job, the employer doesn’t

When you are looking for a job, this is the best time to really think about your career and the direction you want it to take.

Maybe you have been a salesperson but love communication and you believe you would do really well in that field. So you see a position and apply.

You know you can do the job if given the chance but the employer does not know you and they are probably interviewing a lot of candidates who have communication experience.

It’s up to you to prove yourself and you can do this by drafting a killer cover letter explaining your passion for communication or having a separate CV specific for communication jobs.

The bottom line is; you will have to do more than just send your application with the same CV and cover letter you use for all jobs.

4. Stop telling employers “I’ll take anything”

It’s okay to feel desperate especially if your job hunt has gone on for so long.

At the end of the day all you want is a paycheck. I understand. But stop telling employers this. It makes you look desperate and unsure of what you want.

You want to get a job you will be happy with because believe me, you don’t want to be looking for a job again in six months’ time because the one you have is so terrible.

5. It’s never about how many jobs you apply for, it’s about the quality of those applications

Why do you need to apply for over 20 positions every single day? Most people believe this will increase their chances of getting an interview. Sadly this is a misconception.

While you are applying for all these jobs, you are probably sending the same CV and cover letter. This as discussed earlier will not add any value. Instead pick a few jobs you truly are interested in and fit your qualifications and spend all your energy and time on them.

Zeroing in on a specific target offers you a better chance as opposed to applying for every job you see. Not to mention this can even lead to demoralization especially if you do not get any interview.

6. Stop relying on advertised jobs alone

Most people assume that because an organization has not advertised a position then there is no opening available.

Do not limit yourself by believing that the only jobs out there are the ones advertised. Sometimes companies may not know they need someone with your skills and your application may show them that you will be a great addition.

7. Always be prepared for an interview

Well, getting invited for an interview does not mean you got the job. It only means you are a little closer to getting the job and what stands between you and the job is an interview.

It’s very important to prepare for the interview as it increases your chances of getting the job.

Carry out background research on the company, research more on the role, also go a step further and find out what different companies are offering for the position so that you are able to negotiate for the salary.

The importance of interview preparation is that it reduces nervousness during the interview because when you are well prepared you feel more confident.

At the end of the day, landing a job might be as simple as you changing your ways. All the best in your job search.

TEN WAYS TO PREPARE YOURSELF FOR SPIRITUAL WARFARE

1. Bible Study
( 2 Peter 1:4 )
When troubles in life come,
God’s great and precious promises are what keep us from
becoming infected with fear and doubt. God’s promises are found in only one place: the Bible. Daily doses of the Word of God are required for continuing spiritual health.

2. Prayer
(Philippians 4:6-7 )
Prayer is like a healthy dose of vitamin C at the first sign of a cold-the first thing we should do when troubles come. Pray for strength, pray for wisdom, pray for help. And most of all, pray for endurance and faithfulness. In prayer we claim God’s promises.

3. Scripture Memory and
Meditation
(Psalm 1:2 )
The more we incorporate Scripture into our hearts and minds, the more we think like God. When troubles come, instead of trying to think of a Scripture verse, the Word of God is there because that’s how we think anyway.
Take time to dwell on what God says.

4. Clear Conscience
(Psalm 32:5 )
No one who has a guilty conscience-one defiled by unconfessed sin-can be spiritually healthy. Guilt
leads to physical complications, and it certainly leads to
spiritual ill-health. How can we call on God in times of trouble
when we harbor sin in our lives?

5. Worship and Church

( Hebrews 10:24-25 )
A healthy human is a
worshiping human-but not worshiping just anything. Because we were created by God, we are destined to worship Him.
Failure to worship leads to isolation, introspection, and
infection with the disease of self-centeredness.

6. Service
(1 Peter 4:10 )
Because we were created to serve, we will only be truly spiritually healthy when we are using our spiritual
gift(s) to serve others. If we fail to serve, we atrophy-lose our
strength and shrivel up. Discover your gift(s) and stay healthy and strong by serving.

7. Relationships
( Proverbs 22:24-25 )
The better part of wisdom is to avoid unnecessary contact
with carriers of contagious diseases. The same is true
spiritually speaking. Anger, bitterness, resentment, envy, and other carnal characteristics can be caught and spread. Choose your friends wisely.

8. Lifestyle
( Proverbs 3:5-6 )
Living a healthy lifestyle physically doesn’t guarantee perpetual good health-but your chances are better. The same is true spiritually.
Living a lifestyle of wisdom, acknowledging God in all your
ways, is foundational for spiritual health.

9. Giving
(Luke 6:38)
It takes an investment in a healthy lifestyle to strengthen
your body’s immune system. Investing your resources-time,
talent, and treasure-in your spiritual life will return to you an
abundant spiritual health. We reap what we sow physically and spiritually.

10. Fellowship with Other Christians ( Romans 12:10)
Remove a part of the human body and set it aside, and it
dies within minutes. Remove yourself from relationships with
others, and the same is likely to happen spiritually. You are a
“cell” in the body of Christ, and you must stay connected to be
nurtured as a part of the whole. How healthy is your immune system? You will be healthier spiritually when you implement
more of these principles consistently. And the healthier you are, the more likely you are to withstand the infections of this world.

8 THINGS A MAN IS EXPECTED TO HAVE BY AGE 30

  

It is expected that a man should be fully independent by the time he is 30.
Thirty (30) years is an age that requires a man to have acquired a lot of basic things in life. There are a lot of things a man should have achieved by the time he is 30. Here are some of these things;

*1. Be mentally mature*

Maturity sometimes does not depend on age. But at the age of 30, every man should be mature enough to know right and wrong.

*2. Be in a serious relationship*

If not marriage, then a man at this age should be in a more serious relationship that will eventually result into marriage. Walking the streets of Nairobi with casual partners does not count as a serious relationship here.

*3. Be educated*

This does not mean a masters, a degree or a diploma. It can be formal or informal. At least have something you have proper knowledge about.

*4. Be employed or own a business*

If not employment, then a business for the sake your own family. Make something out of life as early as you can.

*5. Be responsible*

Responsibility in this case has to come with age. A man at 30 should be a responsible man who is not forced to do things he should.

*6. Be fully independent*

No man is expected to be still asking for money from his parents at this age. Be your own self and find a way of survival.

*7. Have a set goal*

It is big shame for a man at 30 to lack direction. As a man, you should have some goals that you dream to achieve.

*8. Have a home of your own.*

Of course no one expects a man at the age of 30 to be staying with parents. Buy or rent a home for yourself.

Hii ilimruhusu ahudumu na kutembelea na wale waliokuwa wakiteswa. Huko angeweza kuonyesha na kushiriki Yesu. Hata katika mateso mabaya zaidi, Mungu anaweza kuleta baraka kupitia wale wanaojua kuwa lengo la maisha ni tabia, si faraja.

My Bitter stand of my marriage

My stands on marriage  love
It was the worst week of my life . I have never experienced this before in the marriage life.
Issues here and there in the marriage.

First the wife was sick of pneumonia for 5days and in the 5days she hard her mense for the six days of the week. She was very week that she could hardly do her duties. Cooking and any service to me were my obligations.  I sympathised with her in her conditions until she was now well in Saturday 8th  September 2018.

That morning of 8th , I hard so much difficult in accessing her for love. I had the worst of my worst moods towards her. I had sympathied with her for the week, encouraged her, and even gave her moral support.  She denied me my conjugal right after all. She even attacked me with bitterness as if I was not her husband . I even hard her confess that "I am not your wife". If was such a terrible thing to my heart away from my expectations. When I requested why she had said so it was a wrestle . I was even more angry that I started oppressing her using my muscles with hands and legs together. Everytime I did this I named them episodes.

In episode one , I used my muscles to make her fill pain in her abdomen and head. I squeezed her so hard that she became more bitter . she screamed walking up my son John. John cried for her mum that I had no choice the episode was over.

In episode 2, I used my thighs to squeeze hers. I was not intending to squeeze her again in another episode. So what I did I tried to make love through touch she could not accept it. I was very sorry about the first episode and the events. They were  terrible. She became so bitter that I used my thigh muscles to squeeze her in to tears for about 3mins. The son again cried that I left her.

When it was time to wake up the son woke up and left us.I tried to talk to her but she couldn't speak she lead me to more anger and lots of bitterness. I threw her out of bed and asked her to leave my house. Because in my life I had decided to get another wife . she started parking and out of anger she crushed down a new flask she had bought saying "I am not leaving anything that I own." I collected the broken pieces . I now believed that she was now going back to her home . At this time I did not care, I was heartless I could do the worst to her. I had to let her follow her heart . I even called her son from her shush that they might prepare and leave.

Before they finished prepared she went to my mummy house to look for something . I followed her and asked her to inform my mum that she is going back to her home . she couldn't be able to do so. Her heart was not strong for the going but staying.

She started saying, " You will pay my mummy the Price of loosing my education and wasting my life". I was not ready for this far. I took her down and asked for forgiveness. She could hardly accept .

I decided let there be what will come after that . so many things became hindrances to her going that she ended up staying in my mummy's compound .I followed her there where mummy joined us. We stayed together. I drew near her and she accepted me. She asked me to assist her make her hair. We were now at peace with one another.

In the evening , I got my conjugal right but through struggle. It was never satisfactory. So in the morning, Sunday I requested again . I received sorts of words. Example ," Today is Sunday ,you like disturbing somebody in the morning, why do you wake people up this early".

I was not happy with that. I was out of my mind I altered words that came in my mind. About husbands and wives in other families.
Husbands who had been going to church not able to go to church because of their wives. Others fear salvation because of their wives . she was angry with me and turning her head at the foot of the bed.

Thus the time I decided to write this.

I will never trust her again. I must have a second partner to help me out in my situations like this. No much I might make it worse.

Love becomes a Virtue when we begin to love God, self and others unconditionally, just as God loves us.
Love accepts a person as he is and not as we need him to be.
Love is the virtue that counteracts the sin of anger.

*Manifestations*
I will love God, allow Him in my life and build a personal relationship with Him.
I will be thankful and use the talents and gifts that He has given me.
I will not blame God, parents or others for my unhappiness.
I can recognize my part in a conflict, forgive and take responsibility in order to find healing and wholeness.
I will use the feelings that God gave me.
I can feel anger, sadness or grief over that which I have no control, forgive and then work to rectify the circumstances.

I will refrain from gossip and the temptation to speak ill of others.
I will not take part in any attempt  to ruin another ’s reputation.
If I find that I have periods of uncontrollable anger, I will take proper steps to seek counseling.
I will not turn an- ger against someone else, such as in hitting, excessively punishing my children, physically attacking someone, raging or using abusive language.

I will not return their anger with my own.
I will pray to be able to love them.

I will not turn my anger against myself.
I will care for the body that God gave me and not compare it with another.
I will pray to be satisfied with my looks, intelligence and skills.
I will pray to love myself in order that I can love my neighbor as God calls me to do.
As I accept myself, I also accept the members of my community.

If I see that I am hating my body by mistreating it, I will seek counseling and guidance in order to receive the healing necessary to restore me to wholeness.
I will go to my pastor or another experienced person in the spiritual community for guidance and prayer.

I will not feed a resentment, but rather speak out in love.
I will try not to put another in an uncomfortable position.
I will try to speak to them in a way that they can understand, not in the confrontational method that I prefer.
I will forgive and make amends when appropriate.

I will demonstrate my love for my spouse, family and community by not being moody or spoiling their time with my own self-centeredness.
I will be cooperative and conduct myself with dignity and honesty.

I will pray for the gift of mercy and embrace the qualities of commitment, presence, bonding and nurturing, sensitivity, compassion and tenderness so that I may be appropriately intimate with my spouse, family and community.

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.
I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

Contentment is being satisfied and willing to accept ourselves and to be grateful for the spiritual gifts and talents God has given us. Contentment allows us to be grateful for the circumstances of our lives and not to begrudge the good fortune of others .
_Contentment is the virtue that counteracts the sin of envy._

*Manifestations*
I will love myself as God created me and let go of those things over which I have no influence or control.
I will understand that the quality of a person is not defined by what society perceives as attractive.
I am willing to accept my physical and intellectual shortcomings and to emphasize my own abilities.
I will not obsess on the looks, skills or position of another.
Serenity will be my goal.
I will regard each member of the Body of Christ as important, and I will be satisfied with my station.
I will attempt to make “lemonade out of the lemons” that life hands me.

I will expect my friends and associates to do what is moral and ethical.

I will allow others to go in front of me, to have the largest or best of what is presented with a glad heart and not for personal gain.

*5. Temperance *

Temperance seeks moderation in all actions, material goods and appetites. It is self-control and restraint.

*Manifestations*
I will seek a balanced life style and strive for self-control so that no one thing will become more important than God.
I will abstain from food, drink, drugs and specific person or sexual activities that may interfere with my social or vocational abilities.
I will set realistic goals for myself and have realistic expectations of my spouse, family and community.
I will try not consider myself more important that others.
I will refrain from obsessing about the accumulation of power, status and wealth.

I will face pain, suffering and the things that go wrong instead of seek- ing attachments that will camouflage my hardships.
I will live in the reality of this day and not fantasize about what might happen tomorrow “if.”
I  will accept help from my community in order to remain in reality.

I will take care of myself by getting an appropriate amount of rest, recreation, exercise, a wholesome diet and caring for my hygiene, teeth and any ailments.
I will have regular check ups with my doctor.
I will treat my body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.

I will pursue my spiritual and emotional growth in a balanced manner, being careful not to become obsessed with my progress or preoccupied with comparing myself with others.
I will be content with the spiritual mission that God has prepared for me.
I will not work harder in order to hasten union with God, but I will accept His timing.

I will view material possessions, people and life situations as a gift from God and will not become overly attached to any one person or thing and thus avoid other intimacies and responsibilities.

*6. Diligence & Perseverance*

Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:4

Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.

*Definition*
Perseverance develops when we diligently move toward a goal.
It is using our spiritual gifts and talents for emotional and spiritual growth and the good of ourselves and others and the community.
_The virtue of diligence, or perseverance, is the opposite of the sin of sloth._

*Manifestations*
I will choose to attend church and read and study Scriptures and other books in order to progress on the Journey.
I will not choose a dream world over reality.
I will undergo hardships without complaining.
If there is something that needs to be changed, I will proceed in an orderly way, not waiting for others to do it for me.
I will ask the Holy Spirit to give me courage to become the person whom God created me to be.

I will choose to grow up and assume responsibilities and to problem solve so that I can make well thought out decisions.
I will set life goals and methodically move toward them.
I will be organized and make efficient use of my time.
I will prioritize my relationships and goals.
I will continue toward my goal even when I am discouraged or tired of the walk.
I will “keep on keeping on” in order to reach a balance in my life.

We grow in purity of spirit when we love God and do not give ourselves to false gods and when we treat our own and others’ sexuality with respect and dignity.
We confine sexual activities to those sanctioned by legal, moral and church standards of ethics.
_Purity, or chastity, is the opposite of the sin of lust._

*Manifestations*
I will have no relationships with false gods, and I will remain pure in my love for God.
I will turn from the temptations of allowing someone or something to take God’s place or importance in my life.

I will regard my God-given sexuality with respect and dignity and I will provide the same guidelines for those in my family and community.
I will foster the attitude that the sexual act is a gift of God.
I will honor my spouse and remain faithful in body, mind and spirit.
I will consider any literature I read, music I listen to, or films I view an extension of whom I profess to be.
I will nurture myself with positive, clean and moral attitudes.

I will dress with modesty and never intentionally attract any comments or advances from another that would be out of order.
I will strive to be a role model to those around me, knowing that I have more influence on my community than I realize.
I will be responsible for my actions.
If I have problems with my sexuality, I will seek professional help.
I will develop a healthy attitude about sex.

Devotion

Although I'm a Christian, I still sin. Nevertheless, my heart is in the right place. I'm on God's side. With His help I try to live my life according to His will and ways. If you went by the way I'm being treated, however, you'd think I was evil personified. You'd think that I deserve to be hunted down and brought low. That's what some people want for me. People that barely know me have risen up against me. They want me out of the picture. They want everything that I've built up over the years. They want, in short, my destruction.

In order to get what they want, they've made malicious accusations against me. I do not recognize the person they say that I am. They grill me for hours before those that must decide on these matters in the hope that they can trip me up. They ask me for answers on subjects about which I know little and then use my answers as ammunition for further accusations. Things that I did that were good they make out to be evil. Things for which I should be commended are twisted to make it look like I should be punished.

Worse, they take my minor imperfections and build them up out of all proportion. Indeed, they make them out to be major faults. The few times that I've stumbled are taken as proof positive that I'm unfit for my tasks. How happy they are when they find something they can throw in my face! Like sharks that smell blood in the water, they move in for the kill. They swiftly rush at me and tear at me without mercy. They don't even give me a chance to respond appropriately. They want to finish me off before I even have a chance to defend myself.

Don't let them get away with it, O my Lord! Vindicate me before the powers that be. Come to my defense and show them whose side you're on. Don't let them judge me by their selfish and self-serving standards. Instead, let me be judged by your righteousness, by your righteous standards.

Above all, O Lord, stop them from rejoicing over me! Stop them from their presumptive exultation before the matter is even settled!

Man is designed by God to operate always in Faith. Whatever knowledge we have others are never visible but we believe they exit.

Here we give natural tangibility to the promise that you hope for.

For this very night there stood before me an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I worship... - Acts 27:23 ESV

Devotion

In defense of himself against his accusers, the Apostle Paul had made an appeal to Caesar. (Acts 25:11) As a result, he was taken by ship to Rome to make his case. A centurion named Julius was given the responsibility of escorting him to Italy. When they reached Crete, Paul warned everyone that they should not proceed any further because winter was fast approaching. Despite his warning, they set sail and continued on their way.

A violent storm called the northeaster arose and buffeted the ship for many days. After throwing the cargo overboard didn't help, the crew and passengers gave up all hope of being saved. Paul, however, encouraged them by saying, "Men, you should have listened to me and not have set sail from Crete and incurred this injury and loss. Yet now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship." (Acts 27:21-22)

On what basis was Paul able to say this? It was because of what the angel mentioned in our verse for today told him the night before. The angel had said, "Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar. And behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you." (Acts 27:24) Paul then went on to say to everyone, "So take heart, men, for I have faith in God that it will be exactly as I have been told." And, true to his word, they all survived the shipwreck.

Today, there may be a disaster unfolding in your life as well. You and your fellow workers may have already tried everything you could think of to forestall it, but to no avail. Angel visitations may be few and far between under normal circumstances, but this isn't anything normal. From your point of view, everything is at stake. Maybe, as it was for Paul and his fellow travelers, even life itself is at stake. You need heavenly assurance now more than ever before.

If this is true, then don't be surprised if the God to whom you belong and whom you worship meets your need. Don't be surprised if He sends a heavenly messenger in the night with the assurance you need.

Devotion

I wanted to talk with you about this, fellow believer to fellow believer, but I realized it wasn't going to be possible. So, I've written it down. It's because I really believe it's the only way I'm going to get through to you. Here's what I have to say:

You never let me finish. I suspect you never really hear a word I say. At least, you never really hear the point I'm trying to make. How could you? You never give me a chance to develop it. Indeed, you seem to regard my words as nothing more than jumping-off points for what you want to say. Before the words are out of my mouth, you're off and running on the topics near and dear to your own heart. We never seem to get around to what I want to say. I'm beginning to feel that you have no respect for me. I'm beginning to feel that you don't think I'm worth your time.

If you gave me a chance, if you were slow to speak, you might find out that I have a lot to say that's worth hearing. Like every follower of Jesus Christ, I've been given a number of spiritual gifts. If you let me, I can contribute. If you let me, I can make things easier for everyone. The body of Christ is a unity of diverse gifts and abilities. No one person has it all. No one person should dominate the way you do. You're acting like you're the head of the body. You seem to have forgotten that Jesus already holds that spot.

Even worse, you're not exactly slow to wrath. If I persist in making my point, if I refuse to allow you to talk over me, you get frustrated. Worse, you get mad. Ironically, you then accuse me of being slow to hear and swift to speak. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! There's a technical term in psychology for what you do. It's "psychological projection." That's when you deny the existence of your problem and attribute it to someone else. I hope you can see how unfair that is. I hope you can stop.

Necessity of maintaining spiritual passion
~ Got ability to complete the assignment/ task. You can give a report of you good work.
~ Knowing your purpose. Luke 4:43; John 12:7 (This is the driving force)

Christian habit that help cultivate the passion 
~ Prayers
~ Word of God.
~ Fellowship with other believers.
~ belong to a local church where you can serve the Lord.
~ Idleness bring down the passion in you.
~ Ask God for strength when you are troubled. When weak look upon the Lord.
~ Remain in the boundary of the word of God.

Passion is lost when you keep yourself to things that do not add value to you??
Don't be idle!!!

Pitfalls in loosing your passion
~ Power and position in authority
~ Money thing is a distractor

****Keep a journal of your days write your daily experiences and this will help you grow from within****

When we fulfill our roles everyday the purpose is manifested.
If we fail to fulfill the purpose of us God introduces someone for the same task since we have no use in making the true purpose.

You are not a product of accident in positions you are.

=> Purpose is located in the place of the will of God which will bring glory to God. Most of opportunities God introduces to us is to help us connect back to him.
